I am beyond grateful for the opportunity to teach at Beechwood Middle School. I attended the University of South Carolina and obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. Additionally, I graduated from Sandhills Montessori Institute where I gained Montessori Education certification. I began my profession as an educator in Lexington District Four, where I taught third and fourth grade in a Montessori classroom and served as a reading interventionist. This year I am teaching sixth-grade science, as well as serving as a math interventionist. I am also the Assistant Dance Coach for the BMS competition dance team. Some of my favorite things to do include working out, watching sports, attending concerts, going on adventures, serving the community, reading, and cooking. The part of teaching I love the most is building relationships with my students and their families. kroberts@lexington1.net

Science

As an educator with over 19 years of teaching experience, most of which has been spent working with middle school students, I have a great passion for the love of learning. I bring with me a diverse background centered on experiential education, and my zeal for inquiry-based learning drives my desire to create student experiences that last a lifetime. I graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in Natural Resource Science and began my career as an environmental scientist working for an upstate New York engineering firm. After several years working as a scientist, I decided to pursue a master’s degree in Science Education at LeMoyne College. Upon completion, I began teaching middle school for the North Syracuse Central School District where I taught seventh and eighth Grade Science for 14 years. In addition, I’ve taught college biology and ecology courses for the State University of New York (SUNY) for the better part of the last 19 years. I currently hold teaching credentials in secondary science, grades 6-12, in New York, Wisconsin, North Carolina, and South Carolina. In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my beautiful wife, mountain biking, road cycling, hiking, fishing and exploring all that the great outdoors has to offer. alongo@lexington1.net
