As an educator with over 19 years of teaching experience, most of which has been spent working with middle school students, I have a great passion for the love of learning. I bring with me a diverse background centered on experiential education, and my zeal for inquiry-based learning drives my desire to create student experiences that last a lifetime. I graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in Natural Resource Science and began my career as an environmental scientist working for an upstate New York engineering firm. After several years working as a scientist, I decided to pursue a master’s degree in Science Education at LeMoyne College. Upon completion, I began teaching middle school for the North Syracuse Central School District where I taught seventh and eighth Grade Science for 14 years. In addition, I’ve taught college biology and ecology courses for the State University of New York (SUNY) for the better part of the last 19 years. I currently hold teaching credentials in secondary science, grades 6-12, in New York, Wisconsin, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
